Tateshina Falls is said to be the most beautiful of the waterfalls in the Yukawa River that flows through the Tateshina Plateau. Tateshina BASE offers a “Tour of Tateshina Falls and Mossy Primeval Forest” for guests staying overnight. On the route to the falls, you can enjoy the mystical scenery of moss forests and virgin forests. The tour is about a two-hour course that departs from Tateshina BASE and heads to the moss forest. The recommended times are May, when the fresh greenery is dazzling, and June to July, when the moss changes color and becomes fresh, from the rainy season to early summer. You can enjoy a walk from August, when it is midsummer, to around September to October, when the leaves change color. The fee is 3,000 yen per person.
